Our Story

Bambusa Basics has been developed by the company behind the well-known Bambusa socks. Let us tell you how it all started.

Bambusa was created when Håvard Gundersen's daughter came home one evening in May 2016 and told him that her cheerleading club needed funds. They needed a good way to generate income for the club and wanted suggestions for possible solutions.

Håvard then came up with an idea to offer ankle socks made of bamboo viscose - a material that gives a fantastic feeling of quality. He went to work and launched the first Bambusa socks just a few months later.

The cheerleading club was very successful with the sock sale. It wasn't long before the demand was so great that Håvard decided to offer the products to other local clubs.

7 years later - in 2023, Bambusa has carried out/supervised 5,000 "dugnads" and contributed over NOK 200 million to children through the sale of Bambusa socks and sponsorship cooperation. Offices have been established in both Sweden and Denmark that work to ensure that children and young people achieve their goals and dreams.

Bambusa has so far produced over 20 million pairs of socks and has become the favorite in the drawer of most people, especially in Norway. Many have become hooked on the socks and requested even more garments.

That's why we decided to create a collection of pure basic garments - Bambusa Basics! The garments are produced with great care and precision. We emphasize the details and do not say we are done with the design until it really fits. Most of us have a conscious or perhaps mostly an unconscious relationship with our everyday underwear. We make underwear very important - and we work to ensure that Bambusa Basics becomes the underwear your hand searches for in the drawer.
